Mood: ...

Walls are put up to keep from losing what's important. But in the end, it's just an illusion. The very nature of the walls that should protect just keep anything important from getting inside in the first place. Eh, not very profound, is it? Just confused mental ramblings in the face of no one to talk to. I do that a lot. Not sure what I'm looking for either. Probably nothing.

I'm staring at a lot of hard decisions that need to be made and to be honest I'm not sure how to approach any of them. I'm kind of flailing around like an idiot and managing to get nothing accomplished on any front except to feel more lost and unsure. I guess that's what you get for letting important things ride for way too long.

I'm still working on art. I probably won't upload anything until I have several things done. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

We're having a mini-heatwave up here complete with sticky humidity, so I've been holed up in the basement where it's cool for most of the weekend. Our tiny AC just doesn't work when the temp gets too too high. So not much net for me. Boo... No dolling either since my computer is upstairs in the sauna.

I did start on a doll to try out my new tablet, but it's gonna take some getting used to this one. The pen reaction isn't quite the same as the old one and it's really throwing me off at times. I finally switched the pen over to mouse mode because pen mode was just too slow reacting and I couldn't find a way to speed it up. Mouse mode means I have to get used to using the pen in a new, different way but my hand/mind keeps trying to use it the old way. Total overload!

So anyway, the new plan. Errr, well, apparently we're going to Disneyland for vacation this year. This hit me from out of left field. I'd been totally expecting to spend another summer melting and scorching in New Mexico with the parental units, but apparently not! I guess the plan is to swing through Washington and pick up Kelly, then head straight south to LA and Mouseland. Briana's dad won't let her fly to LA alone and join us, so we're having to pay for him to escort her there. I'm sure she could fly alone fine, but, there's no use antagonizing the ex too much. Roll with the flow, yuss.... Ima try to get lots of piccies! Seems we'll have to be leaving in a couple weeks in order to get back home in time for school to start Sept 5th, so we're rushing around trying to get things booked.

I may be able to work on dolls during the trip via the laptop, but there's a problem. The laptop sux. It's old and outdated and refuses to run Win XP. So I'm stuck with Windows ME, and PSP 8 or higher won't run on it. I need to find a copy of PSP 5, 6, or maaaybe 7 and hope it will install. If I can't find a full version copy of one of those old PSP's, I'll likely be doing no dolls for the two weeks or so of the trip. As long as the version has layers and the right tools for coloring and shading, it'll be all good. ^_^ Anyone know where to get these really old versions? I used to have them ages and ages ago but lost them during a hard-drive formatting.

I'm gonna try to knock out some messages and get caught up. The temp is already rising and it's icky in here. I may have to retreat to the cave downstairs soon.

Weird last few days. Our cable ISP provider decided to go hogwild crazy and start blocking/banning ports left and right. This explains why I stopped receiving emails recently and why previous emails were delayed as long as 2 weeks. I couldn't get onto messengers at all and the net has been crazy slow. The ADSL isn't any better sadly. Meh. dA is loading at a snail's pace and I never did get those missing notes back. How bothersome. =_=

Buuuuuut, I did get my new tablet in ze mail today!!!! Pic plz! [link] It's bigger than my monitor! I had to go buy a wireless keyboard and mouse so I can rearrange things when it's time to pull down the tablet and put it on my keyboard tray. It doesn't even fit on the keyboard tray either though. It hangs off in front. I'm not complaining though. Hell naw...

Hubby bought the same model for himself. This makes me scratch my head in complete confusion because he doesn't even do graphics. Errr, well, whatever. I gots mines. That's all I care about.

Tak hun, I'll get my old tablet in the mail to ya this week! I think tomorrow since we've got the money to ship. Note me with your addy just to make double, triple sure I have the correct one written down! I'd hate to send it off to your old addy.

I got a new video card too and it seems to have mussed some of my monitor/resolution settings. I'll need to fix that and figure out this new tablet, then I'll get started on all the new requests and back to the trades once more. Buzy Buzzy.

Kelly has departed for the States, Briana is already gone and things are waaaay quiet now. Yay!!

Still no new news about the biopsy results, tho I wasn't expecting it so soon either.

Lessee, I've been hit by the great disappearing note bug apparently. Quite a few notes are gone from my box, some that I had replied to, some not. Seems I'm not the only one that this has happened to either. Dunno if it'll be sortable and I'm not even sure whose notes they were that are missing. I just know I had more in my box than is there now and some of the notes were weeks old. I'll reply to what is in my box tomorrow which is about all I can do. If I haven't replied to something important soonish, then assume I no longer have your note and hit me up again.

I tried commenting some today and the comments never showed up. I tried several times on one or two people, so sorry if they appear and you get spammed. I checked and it seems this is a known bug too. I used to feel quite lucky (smug ) when I could visit the help forums and not be one of those begging for help on this sort of stuff. I jinxed myself.

Oh yeah! My new tablet is shipped! Eeeeeeeee!!! I'm getting the Intuos 3 9x12! I'm like completely excited. I can't wait to get it and try it out. Larger working surface = OMG. I asked for the largest Graphire they make and ended up with hubby ordering the Intuos. (Not that I planned on arguing beyond a rather lame, "That's more than I need!" (My inner Sakura, "ALRIGHT!!!!!!!!!! YEAHHHH!!!!!!!!" /Narutard ) "Well, ok, if we can afford it and all, mumble mumble, something about shipping dates and when does it get here.... Oh yeah, I think Kelly's fish is gonna die... mumble..." (I'm not one to express much excitement outwardly. I find it too embarrassing.)

Anyway, it's late and I'm off to sleep. The last few days have been kinda busy and I'm dead. I'll reply to all the comments tomorrow!

I've only got a few mins cuz we've got yardwork before our guests arrive, so answering messages and stuff have to wait. But, I figured I better do this quick-like-bunny since I might be away from dA til Saturday.

I cut it down to five since I'm already swamped. I'm only doing smallish dolls though. No large complex ones and please, no anthro. They'd require far too much base editing/time.
